Our doctors have a variety of backgrounds and experience but we have one thing in common: CAMA physicians are all Board-certified anesthesiologists, which means we have the training and expertise to provide top-quality anesthesia for whatever type of surgery you are having. Every physician hired since the group began came from excellent medical schools and with outstanding professional and personal references. We aim for friendly, professional service—we want a patient to feel comfortable asking any question before surgery and to feel safe during surgery. All the CAMA physicians and families enjoy living in the San Luis Obispo County area and strongly believe in the importance of top quality physicians in our local hospitals and communities. It’s important to our doctors that when our patients think of excellent anesthesia services, you think of Coastal Anesthesiology. CAMA is helped on the business side by a great team of quality professionals. All billing, insurance claims and fee matters are handled by our independent billing service, Specialized Billing Service, located in Santa Maria. SBS works only with anesthesiologists and understands the unique aspects of anesthesia billing and claims, with 25 years of experience working closely with our physicians. Owners Tracy Moreno and Sandy Sands take pride with their staff in their timely, professional approach to helping you understand your insurance plan and billing details. On the administrative side, Practice Administrator Carlyn Christianson works closely with the group on all of the business aspects not connected with billing and claims—such as scheduling, contracting, hiring, communication. Like our physicians, one of Carlyn’s biggest interests is making sure that CAMA is delivering high-quality care, and so it is important to her that you contact her should you have feedback or questions about the care you received, even if you do not wish to speak directly to the doctor (or even if you do!)
