Coastal Anesthesiology Medical Associates

Coastal Anesthesiology Medical Associates  (CAMA) is a 21-physician general partnership practicing at three San Luis Obispo County hospitals and a number of Ambulatory Surgery Centers. The group formed in early 1998 as the combination of several established groups and individual practices in the area, to deal more effectively and efficiently with patient safety, community responsiveness and other medical practice issues.  All CAMA physicians are certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology (or as recent graduates, are Board-eligible.)  This means that your doctor has undergone rigorous training and testing, and insures the highest quality care and concern for patient safety.  For more information about CAMA physicians visit Our Doctors page.

Facilities

CAMA provides all anesthesia services at three local hospitals: Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center (Link), with a cardiothoracic surgery program, a perinatal intensive care unit and an emphasis on neurosurgery; French Hospital Medical Center (Link), which has cardiothoracic surgery and obstetrics programs; and Arroyo Grande Community Hospital (Link).  It should be noted that Sierra Vista is the only hospital between Salinas and Ventura able to offer VBAC services to laboring mothers.  CAMA also provides all anesthesia services at San Luis Obispo Surgery Center (Link) of San Luis Obispo and Coast Surgical Institute (CSI), located in Pismo Beach.
